I think the people you like to listen to are more opinionated (and conservative) than NPR is.

I would agree w/ Wings here. There's a slight... oh so VERY SLIGHT... shift in target demographic here...

NPR is National Public Radio.

as a non commercial organization, they can report things differently (and usually a bit more objectively) than other news outlets. It's also fairly well rounded with music, culture, and information that isn't found from other sources. They stay away from "pop" stories for the most part, and focus on national and world news, and the things that cause events.

Nerds tend to like it, but lots of non-nerds listen as well.

I'm a huge NPR fan. I listen almost everyday. It's the only channel my car radio has on preset. I can't wait to hear click n clack in the morning while I'm driving.

Speaking of how much we all love them I know they're in financial hard times. Wouldn't it be great if everyone who listened just sent in $1.

(You also forgot more liberal, even though they don't admit it.

As a person straddling the political divide, I think it's pretty fair and objective. I think the people who call and write come more from the liberal persuasion, but I think the reporting aims for journalistic objectivity.

You know, when journalists TRY to be objective?
