Well , being in the deep south , we just call it pine straw . lol Now if I went and asked for a bale of pine needles at the feed store , they would wonder what drugs I was on .

lol We buy clean bales of it . Of course one can rake it and get a lot of trash in it ; I prefer to buy a bale , it's half the size of a hay bale and will last me a year .

I agree,
We have prob 50 terrorist pigeons that live in our barn and they are horrible! Mice come for the animal feed and our cats must have signed some new contract with them that we don't know about, LOL!

And if you show at all, it's inevitable that you pick things up from shows too. . . .

Hey, I'm from Texas and never heard of "pine straw" till I started reading BYC!

I always called them pine needles. But I did see them at a feed store recently, something I never encountered before and I've been visiting feed stores more than 30 years. And rather than buy them, I just use a rake in my yard. Course not everyone has pine trees.

a good repellent of mites and ticks is mix DE with 7 dust and put in a spray bottle and fill with water and spray away in the coop, their roost, nesting boxes, EVERYTHING!!!!

this kills them in no time and i haven't had anymore in over a month.
