Anyone order from Ideal Hatchery?

Well, this morning I swapped out the white Japanese bantam part of my order for assorted Japanese bantams. (That gets me the color my guy wanted and some white ones for me hopefully.) I had no trouble at all. But...We'll see what I actually get.

I ordered from Ideal this spring and the customer service was great especially for a novice orderer. I got my 14 chickes plus 12 RIR roos as packing peanuts. Considering I changed my order at least 3 times.

All our local feed store order form them as well

Do one died and the roos went to the feed store.

is their customer service so bad that I'd have trouble getting some of them swapped out?

I had no trouble adding to my order, but it was about 1 week before they actually shipped.
I did try to change it a bit on friday and as no one answered the 2nd time I called I left a message about the change I wished (they weren't due to ship till wend. ... Unfortunatly I didn't get back in touch with them until tuesday and it was too late... My bad though! For changing my mind at the last minute! Although I'm still happy with what I ordered...and every bird is healthy and happy!
So, yes, they are good about changing your order as long as they have the stock avail. and its not the last day! lol

Well they arrived this morning, called my PO at 8:45am thinking they didn't make it in and she said "oh, I was just getting ready to call you"

21 total.

6 favorelles pullets

1 favorelle roo

3 ee's pullets

3 wellsummers pullets

3 BR pullets

5 silkies

They all seem healthy and happy, eating and drinking,
so far so good.

Congratulations!

My order ships tomorrow (I think. I got an email that said it shipped today 9/30, so it's a little muddled. I'm assuming tomorrow.) I called and changed the order last Thursday and called back yesterday to check on it. They didn't actually change my order last week and agreed to change it right then. Here's hoping!

My mailman called this morning. For some reason they didn't hold at the post office, but all went well. We are usually home and were able to meet him outside. I told my EE boys that they are getting girl friends, but they seemed more interested in the scratch I was tossing.

All the chicks seemed healthy. Swapping out my white Japanese chicks for the assorted got me 4 whites (I think, unless some are buff), 3 blacks, and a grey, which I'm perfectly happy with (let's hope I get at least 50/50 on the sexes). The EE girls are nice, chubby cheeked little ones. The naked necks are much cuter than I imagined possible. No one seemed tired from the trip. I took about half of them and dipped their beaks in the water. It wasn't necessary to do that to the other half, because before I was done dipping the first half, the second half had figured out what was going on.

And, today they sent me an email on the Bantam Special.

My order from Ideal is coming in the morning...thought they'd be here today since I am in TX, too. Will be happy to see them in the morning!

I must say that their customer service is top-notch. I have rarely seen such wonderful, fast, friendly service...especially these days. I changed my order by email three times right after I placed it and the lady was never upset by it.

I did get a call that they were shipping out yesterday, and that my Barnevelders didn't hatch, but I'll just reorder in Spring. So polite that they called to let me know.

I'll have to comment on chick quality later, but for now, CUSTOMER SERVICE is FABULOUS!

I hope Ideal Hatchery monitors this site and sees what folks are posting about their business and staff.

My husband and I own a couple of business and we would love to see feedback like this.
