i have a few important questions that im wondering if they may mean life or death, im hatching ducklings the due date was yesterday, i had one hatch a day early, (2 days ago) and he knocked around alot of his fellow eggs when he got out, they rolled around a bit. i took him out when relatively dry hoping they were ok. i put them back in position and closed the lid after removing the majority of the stuff from his shell. my questions are, has he dampened the success rate of these ducklings by moving them around? i candled them 4 days ago before the 3 day no open no turn rule, and 5 of my 6 eggs had moving bodies inside. so whats thier chances? and also his membrane and stuff i couldnt clean up is somewhat inside the water chambers beneath the eggs (hovabator model incubator) is the contamination of this fluid and "egg stuff" hazardous to the other eggs? i dont want to change the water by moving the eggs.

ok thankyou i feel somewhat reassured. but i just became uneasy and worried because one came a day early, and now nothing at all, no pips or nothing. thanks

i know its probably pointless for me to post again but im worried. my first duckling hatched a day early, and was out within hours, he was super fast and worked hard as i "egged" him on, and now my 4 other eggs are doing nothing, no pips or anything. its now the 30th day and im just wondering, is it normal for them to be so spacey with hatch times? im watching the incubator like mad, i guess im just worried this little guy will be the only one who hatches.

and on another note, what does it mean when your looking at the egg in the incubator (no candling) and you can almost see black small dark area's throughout the shell, is this bad or good? thanks

I have had one hatch a day after the first one. I would wait a day and maybe then candle the eggs to see if anything is moving. Was there any movement at all in the other eggs? Last time I incubated eggs only two hatched, one was very slow coming out of the egg and needed some help. The other was out in 15 to 20 minutes ... I watched the whole thing.... Maybe someone else with more experience will reply.... I wish you luck!!!

I had one duck hatch a bit early. I waited on the others and finally after a few days broke one open to find a dead ducky. Fully developed, absorbed yolk. And that was it. The other couple of eggs were quitters, but poor Clyde was all alone. I wish I had interevened earlier, but then again, it may not have made a difference.

i candled the eggs the last day i could and i had six, i saw movement in five of them, and now theres five left, with 4 that i know were moving. is it really bad to remove and candle them at this point? ive seen pictures of pipped eggs, but never thought it was really good to do. thanks for any input, and i hope at least 1 other ducky hatches.

bird brain, what do you mean intervene? like start hatching the egg for them even if they havent started? thanks
