Anyone ready to ring in the new year...and lose weight/get fit?

I know I am a couple of weeks late, but can I join the party?

I am 5'6" and 220 lbs (after 4 babies in the last 6 years) and I would like to get back to 170 lbs. After that, I will see if I need to go any further. For me, it will be about portion control and eating more salads-which I have been doing in the last 2 weeks.
Good luck everyone!

Baby6, welcome.

This week I just broke under 220 for the first time in a very long time. It feels wonderful when you do.

Oesdog, good job on getting that scale to move for you. Next week will be the same.

Evil little girls in brown vests keep bringing cookies to the door and forcing me to buy them. I was very good last night, I only had one of each kind we bought. Three girls scout cookies ought not to do me in. The fact that I've promised at least three other girls I would buy from them might be a problem.

I'm pleased with my weigh-in this week. I've hit 10 pound!!!!!

it makes me want to keep going to the gym. My knees are starting to feel better too. I don't know if I am standing less, the weight loss is helping or the exercise is helping. Whatever it is I'll take it. Maybe in another week or two I'll be able to get off the couch without prying myself up.

I'm hoping that losing weight will make my joints and knees feel younger; right now my knees make me feel like I'm about 70.

Gained 2 lbs this week, but not surprised since I was at a conference for 5 days with very little control over what they fed me.

Better next week!

Breakfast:10 grain hot cereal with milk and little bit of strawberry preserve and as a treat(in a long while)3 tbs whip cream.
Lunch:Im probably going to have some leftover rice with the leftover "sauce" of tomatoes, onions, mushrooms, black beans, and spices. And a big tomatoe to munch on.
Dinner:Grilled chicken breast with tons of broccoli and zuchini.
Drinks:Milk and lots of water to keep metabolism going.

Exercise:No exercise, Saturday and Sunday are rest days!

Does anyone know of a FREE website where you can put recipes in and find out the calorie content? I know you can do it on WeightWatchers, but I can't afford that!

Girl scout cookies freeze well. Take them out of their packaging, put them into smaller packs of 2 or 3 cookies each, and freeze them!

Glad to hear about your knees! That's wonderful news.

ETA - I've found that just moving more keeps my joints feeling better. Like, keeping them lubricated... And great news on your weigh-in.
