Anyone ready to ring in the new year...and lose weight/get fit?

I was eating really good... but I made a cheesecake the other day and ended up eating 2 pieces today.

Good thing lunch was a slice of pumpernickle bread, 2 carrots, 1 stick of celery and fat free ranch dressing. YUM!

Tonight is chickens & mushrooms... with light olive oil & balsamic vinegar dressing.

Thank goodness for sparkpeople.com though... makes it so easy to count calories and know I'm not over my limit by much.

I have 20 lbs to lose.. I'm 5'1", as my DR says "when I try". So it shows.

I have hyperthyroid issues-- not HYPO, but HYPER, yet I have trouble losing weight. I'm also horrible out of shape, so I need to jump in and get things done!

I put my weight on the spreadsheet for all to see. I'm 5'10", and 48. My knees are sore with the little bit of Christmas weight I gained, and I'm concerned about having my blood work done in three weeks. But I'm here, and y'all are going to help me.

Going out to cover the plants and put the chickies to bed.

Hi there! I don't "diet" because I tend to get obsessive and had trouble with eating disorders in college, but I do want to get healthy. I ride horses, and I run, but due to an injury to my horse and lack of motivation, I have not been doing either.
I really just wanted to say that about 1 1/2 years ago I never would have thought I could run, not even around the block! A friend recommended the "Couch to 5K" program (you can google it). It's a program that gets you started very slowly with a LOT of walking in the beginning, and it made a HUGE difference for me. At my best a few months ago, I was up to 6 miles in just over an hour. So anyone who wants to run but doesn't think they can, I highly recommend it!
My New Year's resolution is to get in shape to do a Half Marathon this coming May (13.1 miles). I also need to overhaul my diet- WAY too much processed convenience foods and I also have a sweet tooth!
Good Luck to everyone. I'm not going to do the regular weigh in (again, I try not to weigh myself too often for the same reason I don't diet) but will check in from time to time of that's OK.

Welcome Terry. Love your goal. Please check in and let us know how you're doing on your process. I'd love to hear more about it.

Weigh-ins are only for those of us who are also working in a weight goal. I think the "fitness" goals are even more important.

I set up a Google spreadsheet that we can all edit. Anyone with the link can edit. How's that look?

That's awesome!! Does that mean you're volunteering to keep it updated???? I'm soooo bad at computer stuff. I'll try to input my info...hope I don't mess things up!

Nope. Nuhuh. Not me. That's why I opened it up so you can update your own self.

Let me know if you need help though.
