Anyone ready to ring in the new year...and lose weight/get fit?

OMG, count me in!!! I just tried to Put on a pair of jeans that I haven't worn in a while for church... It didn't really work out.

maybe if you come across a really good healthy meal recipe we could post it? i have a friend who owns a japanese restaurant the kind where you watch the cooks show off.. knife tricks etc and she invited a group of us for lunch.. we had sukiyaki.. it was delicious.. you can use chicken or beef or your choice of meat even shrimp is good. dice vegetables.. i like chinese cabbage, bean sprouts, water chestnuts, bamboo sprouts, green bell peppers, green onions, regular onions,bok choy.. well you get the idea, just use lots of veggies.. you stir fry all in a pan in chicken broth,, then make a sauce of ... soy sauce, sherry, and a dash of sugar, taste so it is to your liking,, if too salty dilute with a little water,, pour over your veggies and serve .. good over rice . not much calories in it but it is super good for you..

Needing support from the other room!

DH is sitting quietly in his "Man Cave" watching some sort of football pre-game crap....sipping on his 3rd cup of coffee and has a belly full of McDonalds sausage biscuits and hash-browns.

I have to preface this with only ONE other time in our married lives have we had fast food for breakfast.

The devil surely does work in OBVIOUS ways..........sheesh.....

I woke up this morning to find a small bag waiting for me......it was SO tempting....and I caved...

There IS a bright side to all of this tho.

Even tho I was weak...and promised myself I will try to be stronger, I can start my day over.

So I think I'll start with having a conversation with DH then getting a nice big glass of water.

I'm in a similar situation. We used to have a Y membership, so I did a little Zumba, but we dropped it due to $$ issues...

Now we're in a less tight situation, so I think I could get another membership, but I wouldn't be able to make it there enough to make it work. Running is my addiction. I hate starting, but I love that feeling you get when you're done. I was up to three miles when the snow and cold put it to an end... Now I'm afraid I'd be WAY out of breath after one!

Also, for any one with a Wii: If you want to get toned, I'd get EA Active Workouts or EA Active More Workouts. Last year I lost 20 lbs and this helped me tone QUITE a bit. It doesn't have many stomach exercises though, so you'd have to do that on the side... I guess you can kinda tell I've been around the bend in this area...

So yeah - just cuz you had a "treat", doesn't mean you've lost.

In fact, one way to do this while staying sane is to have one meal a week set aside as a "don't count" meal. That way your DH can still treat you and you don't have to worry about throwing off your plan because it's part of your plan.
