Anyone ready to ring in the new year...and lose weight/get fit?

Yesterday I made my 10,000 steps. I did it in little batches, and my knees aren't complaining too much. I had a glass of red wine too. It is only about 20 calories an ounce, surprisingly enough. Totally empty calories, but well worth it. I even measured my wine serving. I'm off to my kiddo's school soon, and 2000 more steps for the day. I'm feeling nervous about the weigh in.

well... I figured out the exhaustion and weight gain. Somehow I finished this week's pill caddy and it is only Thursday.

Doubled up on antihistamines and singulair...

Maybe I can get back on the activity now. I have never done that before. The morning caddy is correct, but I really messed up the evening one.

At least now the water weight will drop.

Time for a keeper.

I hopped on the scale this morning to see if I'm on the right track and it looks to be at about 183 which came down from about 190. I have one of those really old scales that wavers quite a bit so it's not greatly accurate or anything like that, but it was nice to see progress.

That is progress, and any progress is good

Sparkpeople suggest measurements are the most accurate way to know you are successful though. I'm not so happy as I haven't lost but a few inches in my tummy.... but my hips/butt are lost 5 inches so far, and my pants are saggy.

good for you! I love to see you all progress.

I decided that I will eat everything at the table. Even if it is an apple or a handful of walnuts.
If I sit down and make myself mindful of what I eat, then maybe I will form a good habit, and make a life change.

I hate it when I eat my snack and don't even realize I have eaten it. Then I feel deprived and go get another handful of raisins. They may be healthy, but twice the calories are twice the calories.

My husband and I start back on the 1st. We had been doing the 6 week body makeover by Michael Thurmond something I had picked up at a yard sale almost 8 years ago, but he said was stupid. He saw the advertisment on TV for the thing and wanted to try it. It surprised him that I still had it. We did if for 4 weeks then Christmas hit, but I lost 13lbs. I wouldn't pay full price for the kit, but it really does work as long as you follow it. And we excercise 45 mins a day. My goal is to lose 65lbs this year with 30 being before July 1st.

Oh yes, that is a big change I made... something so simple. Though I don't always eat at the table, I measure what I'm going to eat into a bowl and just have that. So 1/4 cup of dried cranberries or 10 tortilla's with my home made salsa. I don't ever take the bag or box anymore! You lose count and knowing me, I'd have 3 servings rather then 1.

^ Wow your silkies are beautiful.

Okay I spoke to my husband and he says as long as he has 'snacks' he doesn't need sugary things at all. He's just snacking, not into his sugar (or so he says).... so now I've gotta spend today making heaps of small take-away snacks I can keep on hand for him.

He hates nuts but likes dried fruit and baked beans. So... this'll be interesting.

Anybody have any ideas?

In the last two weeks I lost five pounds the boy gained TWENTY. D:
