Anyone ready to ring in the new year...and lose weight/get fit?

I had big plans for my garden in 2011

Building chicken run.

Digging out a larger pond.

Adding extra veg patches.

But im 54 years old. 5ft 7" & 200lbs !

Trying to do this work in my condition was going to kill me.

So first thing was to loose weight & get fit.

Told my wife i would not eat anything she did not give me. ( Big mistake ) LOL

Also we now go to my sister house mon & fri to use her running machine & other bit of kit.

Wednesday we go swimming.

I have been doing this for 2 weeks now.

I am currently down to 192lb

It is already making a difference, I have dug out a path & concreated it for my hen house with out to much problem.

Its only when you return to normal weight & regain your fitness that you realise just how much you had been struggling before !

For all on here trying to loose weight, KEEP IT UP IT WILL BE WELL WORTH IT IN THE END.

Wow, that is inspiring, thank you! I started last Friday and so far have lost 2.5 pounds. It hasn't been easy but I already feel better. Only 17.5 left to go.... uughhhhh
 
Hey guys hows everyone hanging in there?I havent been on BYC for a few weeks so im deciding to post on this thread every day on what I eat and how I exercise for motivation.I started trying to lose weight about two weeks ago and have lost I think about 8 lbs.My target weight is 150,im a male,5'10 weight 180 lbs and im a freshman.
Today

Breakfast:1 whole wheat tortilla stuffed with grilled chicken breast,lettuce,tomato and a little bit of mayo.Also had 1 small coffee with 1 tsp sugar and a cup of yogurt
Lunch:Couldent have it I forgot it at home

Dinner:Im going to cook some ground beef in a pan w/o oil with some mushrooms,spices,black beans,onions,tomato and some spinach.
Dessert:Lots of grapes
Drinks:Lots of water and around 2 glasses of milk

Exercise:Went on elliptical for 20 mins the screen said I lost 200 caloris(yeah right

) tommorow im lifting weights and going on the elliptical again.

I am trying to "give up" soda.....or at least reduce it to more like a treat when I go out.

Thank goodness for the Lemon trees, drinking lots of water with a splash of lemon juice

Ernest (the dog) and I went for a walk to get away from the noise of the roofers. We walked to the coffeeshop and back, about .65 miles each way. I sat and had an espresso at the coffeehouse. Ernest had a bowl of water, and a treat when we got home.
 
ok i'm a late starter but i'm in. i need to loose *drum roll* 100 pounds. i was close but quit smoking and took up eating.... a lot. yesterday i worked out for 20 min.
