Anyone set any eggs today? I need a buddy!! Aug. 27th-30th!!!

And another hen is setting! We had 3 hens- a Dominique (Pedres), a Turken (Pescoso Pelado) and a black chicken (who lays beautiful blue eggs!)- lay in the same nest. Now our Dominique is setting, starting today. So we're on Day 9 with our first broody and Day 1 wit our second. Here's to hoping we can keep increasing our flock!

We are trying to get our black chicken to lay in a different nest. She's really resistant. Any suggestions? We transferred her eggs over to the new nest.

I put six Mille Fleur eggs I ordered online into my little Brinsea mini advanced on 8/27/2011. Trying to leave them alone.

I just candled and 4 are alive!!!!! The other one never started to develop!!! I am so excited!!! How has everyone elses candling went?

I candled yesterday and all 6 of my shipped eggs were duds. The air cells were destroyed in the shipping. I was afraid of that. Did an egg topsy and they were fertilized, but no development.

And we have 4 chicks! There are still 8 eggs unhatched & we didn't see any pips. Mama was acting upset, following a baby out, then quickly herding baby back in and setting again. So we put some food in for the babies and mama, then locked everyone down.

How much longer should we wait? We haven't done any candling, and a few of these eggs our ditzy Turken put in the nest.

It's not a very good pic....sorry....
