What day are you on?I leave mine in to at least day 10 and usally day17.,.before i lockdown, before remove any iffy onesI think i may have a few quitters in my bunc, but it's hard to tell. I really hate the idea of throwing them out when I'm not sure, but I also hate the idea of the potential to contaminate my bunch if one were to burst. How common is it for a rotten egg to explode???
If they grow in the next week from where ever you are now...then they are still good..I thihk some ppl put a line on with a pencil to see if there is growth later
. I dont know how common exploding is. I do know out of 9 hatches and some none developed at all but went to day 22 i have had a few slow leakers but none explode
It can happen though Most ppl dont want to take the chance. I have heard a lot of ppl too opening an egg thet thought was a quitter to fine a live baby too. Its a hard call sometimes .I go with waiting for my own.. unless they are for sure clear or smell. MIght be dangerous though!

e My Cochin has been in there for 3 days now sitting on one of her eggs, an EE egg and a golf ball, LOL. I don't think she's left to eat or anything though. Should I put food and water in her box? She's been wanting to go broody since she started laying and when I got her I also got 3 silkie chicks and she immediately was mothering them and protecting them. I want to leave the chicks in there because I saw her protect the silkies so I know she'll do i,t but I still worry as I have a buff orpington that is a nasty girl attitude wise.
