Anyone set with me this weekend? Set 28 October - Hatching 18 November

anyone else using the little giant incubator? I've tried everything and I can't get the humidity to the right level. the highest I have gotten is 33%. Before this, i was doing a "dry" incubation and the levels maintained around 22%

any suggestions?

i've tried multiple containers of water, a 9in cake pan filled with water and wash clothes now I have different mason jars with wet sponges in them... i'm out of ideas!!! Could this be because I took out the fan? I took it out because I thought that it would help raise the humidity if i took it out.

The 2 eggs under broody are growing also! Should I leave them with her and bring them in to hatch or should I take the eggs in here and set them under her on day 18 to let her hatch and then she'll take care of them? Decisions, decisions..... I know she'd love them if I let her hatch all of them and then they won't be strangers to each other when they are older, especially since I'll most likely keep them or some.
Has she been a MOm before? Hard to say if she hasnt. She could break them or leave them so maybe the bator if you REALLY want them to hatch .I am not sure about under her at day 18
Again has she been a mom before?
Sort of a chance but how wil shee learn if you dont. try?....6 one 1/2 dozen of the other..

I started 2 Easter eggers, 2 rir, and 6 new hampshires this morning. I wasn't planning on incubating in the winter but one of the new hampshires were sitting on them and they were nice and toasty so I couldn't resist. Now I have to figure out what I'm going to do with them all winter:)

Are you on lockdown?
If so .....LOts of ppl do like sponges i dont have much luck withthem at all.
Better for me with very wet wash rags opened up somewhat.Remember the humidity goes up by how much SURFACE water there is.NOT DEPTH of water so if your jars are narrow and deep might be why. To me sponges get dry too easily or mine do.Wet rags might be too much humidity if its day 1-18.

I can't figure out what is going on with my hygrometer. i even calibrated it. Seemed to have read fine. I now have three wide-mouth jars with sponges sticking out of all of them and my humidity is only at like 45%. It's probably the best that I will get and I rather not mess with it anymore to disturb them. I just hope it all works well, they're all wiggling so that's promising.

I am going to be so very stressed out these next couple days...

Hi all! One of the 2 eggs in the incubator died, I had a blood ring and slow movement but since yesterday the veins seems to have drained mostly to the blood ring and the chick inside is half the size of the other one and not moving at all. I am just thrilled to have one. This is my first time and out of only 2 fertile eggs one is still thriving in my tiny homemade incubator! I am going to put it in with mommy hen the night before the 18th day. I is 1 day behind hatching from the broody eggs. I collected 4 more eggs on the 12th and put them in the incubator to see if I can get any of the other breeds to hatch.
