Anyone setting eggs May 1st?

that's a nice set up!! I need to figure out how to add another roost. I have 8 days left and can't stand it! My broody has 13 days. My dh was considering getting a wireless webcam..so I can sit at work and watch....uh..that would not be good!

Lol... it's like watching a baby sleep... hours can go by and it feels like 15 minutes.

We needed more roost space as well and we were tired of the ducks sleeping under the chicken roosts getting pooped on. The roost on the left is new to the coop. I love how they have 2 levels now. Tonight we are adding ramps to everything.

Just got done candling, looks like there are 5 little swimmers out of 12.....so almost 50%. The rest were all clear. Hopefully a 100% hatch now!

Looks like I might have another broody, my blue Cochin. Today she roared at me like a lion and about ripped my arm off......ok wasn't that dramatic, but she still wasn't too thrilled with me taking her eggs the other enablers hoarded in one box for her. (There's 5 other boxes). She was still in there when I candled the other broody's eggs and locked up the rest of the girls, she gave me that sweet fluffy bunny stare (murderous glare) the whole time. She picked the nest box one down from my other broody.

Hoping your 5 hatch strong and healthy. What kind are they?
Yay for the broodies!

Hi All!

Too tired to read through al 14 pages, I set 7 Lavender Ameraucanas on May 4th. Anyone else set that day? I have a Brinsea Mine Advance and this is my second batch of eggs I set. First time round I had 4 make it to lock down and they all hatched. So far, this is Day 10, and I had discarded an infertile egg on Day 7, I have 6 viable, moving, active little embryos going. These are shipped eggs, and am also concerned about the wacky, displaced air cells that they have. Been reading a lot and am hopeful they will be able to hatch despite their trip from Texas to NY via the USPS!!

Good Luck everyone!!
I know we are all around the same time, but anyone set on the 4th as I did?

I started on the 4th with 4 under a broody, 7 in an incubator with another 5 in another incubator on the 5th.

yes it is! oh.. you keep your ducks in with the chickens? i am new to the ducks, i have to pekin right now, but i think they are both boys, so we will be hatching some soon, I was wondering what I would do with them, especially in the winter. I have a small coop for the ones I have now.

!

Nice to meet a fellow Empire Stater! How many more days till your hatch? What did you set? I candled again last night.. and 5 out of the 6 are large, and moving around like crazy.. the 6th is moving too, but seems to be behind in his development. Hmmmmm

Good Luck, and I Hope the remaining 4 hang in there for you. Thank goodness this is only 21 day wait. I don't think I could handle much longer!
