Anyone setting eggs tomorrow (13th March, EDD Apr 3rd)

Oh my gosh, that duckling is soooooo adorable! I want ducks, but with how messy I've heard they are, I'm hesitant. And DH would probably have a cow!

Congrats all of you with pips and babies!

And yes, welsummers have chipmunk stripes too, so do many other breeds. I believe Speckled Sussex do too. My silver penciled rocks also have a chipmunk type pattern to them. (but they're darker in coloring)

Lots of activity going on!!! Whoooo hooo and congrats on all the new chicks and pips!!!

Had to run out and get the sick girl some ice cream.

Came home and our 4th had hatched! It's a blue andalusion and we have 7 more pips!!!!

I think the EE's usually have the dark markings around their eyes. All mine do...looks like eye liner. Most of my babies hatching now are EEs. I have an Ameraucana Roo and a mix of laying hens. A RIR, BCM, Golden laced polish, cinnamon queen and some Ameraucana hens. I'm hoping for a colorful flock:)

That one that pipped is still the same............
At 5:30ish a brahma piped/zipped and hatched all in 30 min

quick question... since the duckling hatched ive herd the silkie chick cherping. its not due till tomm. day 21. i candled and i saw the chicks head in the air cell.... how long does he have air for before i get worried... SHE has not pipped yet?!

Amy, congrats on a pip/zip and hatch!! Finally!!

My pip #1 is zipping now! yay! No other pips though then the 'what I thought was silkie eggs'. Hope they are ok. The other eggs are larger.

The chick does have feathered legs, so not sure what it is.

Maybe I should post a pic of the chipmunk chicks and then you guys can look for clues as to what they are.

I think there is a possibility that 1 of my wyandottes might be a roo. (came out of the asst pullet bin at TSC). The comb is a good deal larger then the other chicks. But I havent a clue since Im new to all of this.

Im at my MILs, so will get pics of the chipmunk chicks when I get home. And maybe I might have another chick hatched!!

Loopy-was it you asking about the therm/hygrometer being flipped over? If you have more still to hatch, I would flip it and make sure the humidity stays up. It wont hurt to open the bator. I open mine alllllllllllllll the time during lockdown/hatching. I just did before I left to rewet sponges.

Yeah, its me with the flipped hygrometer.
If I flip the hygrometer, might as well take out the chick

I now have 4 pips - two orpingtons, a cochin and a white laced red cornish

One of the orpingtons that was pip#2 is just sat there, part zipped, beak poking out. It only makes an effort if i shine the flashlight at it.
Blue Jersey Giant is still rocking away...
Might stay up late tonight...

My chick is almost fluffy now - has taken hours and hours - like 9 hours. Is still sticky/damp on its back and head though.
I wish it wouldn't collapse face down like its dead - keeps freaking me out

Raimnel: congrats on the brahma! That was quick!
