Anyone setting eggs tomorrow (13th March, EDD Apr 3rd)

I started this lock down thing at 11 this morning and I was still not up to temp or humidity so I just wrapped a towel around my bator for about 10 min and BAM I am right where I need to be...I think...my cheap digital thermometer and my mercury thermometer have been reading the same this whole time and now they aren't. So I don't know what I did to them. My digital says 99.3 and the other one says102 and maybe a tad over that. I think I am just going to try to hold steady. My humidity is at 63%.
I got my cornish cross chicks from the hatchery this morning and I am roasting one of last years in the oven right now. I hope they can't smell it:) SOOO tasty!

aaahhhhh! I don't know! I don't know!

2 EE are duds, 1 is porous and one in almost clear.
2 Brahma.......... are bad, they are about 3/4 full but ???? jagged on the bottoms?? I don't know how to discribe it. but any ways their NOT as full as the others so their going.
the store boughts are not as full as the EE and brahmas but their at 15.5 days not 17.5 days so I have 9 of those left. some look iffy but I'm not sure. and some look like they'll hatch early? i seen movement in 2 of these but no movement in anything else. Well time will tell! I'm locking down tomorrow morning sO I can keep an eye on this thing.

Good luck everyone!!

Alright, I just candled.

Dang it. Had to take 1 out due to the dark mass not being anywhere near the size of the others...and a blood ring. I opened it. It was feathery, but little, and black.

So that leaves me with 9, of which I saw movement in all 9.

If they moved, put them back in!!!!!

We had a busy night. We candled, and only removed one clear that I was iffy about last time, so still 26 eggs in there. Didn't see all of them move however, we were trying to get it done quickly.

On top of that, we had to create a phase 2 brooder pen in the basement for the 10 month old chicks. We built it out of some huge cardboard sheets in a corner of the basement. I think the teenagers like their new space.

Then I moved the 6 almost week old chicks I bought last Thursday into our regular brooder, and out of their temp brooder.

Tomorrow I have to clean out the temp brooder, and will move the newborn chickies in there as they hatch, until they regain their strength for a couple days, then they will go in with the 6 newbies.

Now, I'm ready for bed!!! G'night all!

I wondered that myself! Must be pretty big! Wish I had a basement. I could have lots more little chickies. Im running out of room to put the babies!!

All locked down, now the hand sitting begins. I have nothing big except Easter going on this weekend, so I can be home....... hmmm and sit on my hands. Oh and get the brooder warm.) I can't wait to see what these cuties are gonna look like.

I already called them cuties what if their ugly....... naa there's no such thing right!

Nice going on the hand.

Ouch!

Good luck everyone. I hope you all have a great hatch!

Raimnel......thank goodness you didn't toss those eggs! It just might be the veins going to the tip of the egg, which is normal.
