Well, my hatch is done! Out of 89 eggs (finally counted) I got 40 healthy chicks, 4 that have died, and 2 are not doing well. They were the last to hatch, I think they were too weak to make it out of their eggs. One is small and kind of strange looking; I think it may have deformed hips. But they are isolated, they will either make it or not. In the meantime, I am happy with my 40 (give or take a couple) healthy chicks! Strangely enough, though the parent flock is about as mixed as you can get without a blender, almost every single one is black. *shrug* A few white, some with feathered legs, 2 Turkens, and 1 glorious little baby Ameraucana/Wyandotte cross (that one I knew what it was, from a different breeder) that I think will be laced! There is one black one that I'm already thinking is a rooster. He is loud, he is a jerk, he is huge. The computer is working long enough for me to post pictures, it seems, so here goes ...
A big group picture, which was HARD to take. I swear, they have room. But they do like to jumble up into a big bunch when I try to take pictures.
The buff Turken, who has named herself Olivia. Even though she is NOT staying, she is for sale, I swear, really and truly. Not my pet. Nope. *looks the other way*
Aaaaand my please-tell-me-it's-laced Ameraucana/Wyandotte!
