Any thoughts advice on whether to use egg carton or not?

My main concern is that the humidity isn't going to stay up high enough.......

Just locked down! No egg carton here, I just put them on the wire floor. I was going to candle but decided just to lock down and see what happens. We candled a few days ago so I don't think we'll have any egg explosions. Hope all goes well!

I just candled and I lost my WAX baby. It had no movement and seemed smaller in the shell then the rest of the eggs. When I cracked it open, He/she was clearly not living and appears to have stopped growing around the time I dropped the eggs. Oops. So now I am down to 6 from my original 26. Those are terrible odds thats for sure. I had my hands in the incubator far to often. I had a lot of quiters and about 7-8 empty eggs/blood rings. I go into lockdown tomorrow evening. I have been trying to regulate my temps in my Hovabator for the big switch but cant seem to get it set. It keeps temp right on point but I cannot get it where I need it. Its at 106 right now so I will be going backwards all night long with it till I find the sweet spot. Then all the eggs that are in the turner are going in there and the 6 eggs going into lockdown will stay in the LG and I will add more water. I am so excited. At this point, I will be greatful if one egg even hacthes. He/she can be my $42 chicken. Day 3 of my Brinsea and I havent touched a single egg!!!

I know. I am so proud of myself but I have learned a trick. Fill another incubator with cheap barnyard mixes and then I have something to fuss over without messing with the really exspensive eggs all the time. Sounds cruel huh? It works though. I have no desire to touch the brinsea other than to check the humidity. Whish there was a smiley for patting myself on the back.

What a day!!!!! Lockdown for me was gonna be at 4pm today! Well around 3:00 this afternoon we lost power due to high winds. I basicaly went crazy! between crying and cursing I managed to wrap the incubator in towels while my husband drove off to get his father's generator! The temp dropped so fast... it was heartbreaking. It was reading around 75 by the time we got the generator (for about 20 min.) Then it took us about an hour to get the temp stabalized again. Went into lockdown at 4:30pm. I decided not to candle since they had already been exposed to temp fluctuations. I sure hope this didnt kill them! I was already worried sick, now this geez!
Good Luck to everyone!!!
