Anyone Setting Eggs Tonight 3/31/2011 - Come join me if you like!

I would, those octo advanceds are pretty darn high tech. Brinsea is way ahead of the game with their incubators! The nice part is, you won't see the spikes you had in the styro. It'll get up to temp and humidity quickly, then stays there! The awesome part is, being you got the advanced, you can also eventually get the automatic humidifier for it as well!

I dropped an egg.

Did I drop a (?) egg....Oh no, I had to drop one labled "Dancing baby". Thats what I write on my eggs with moving embryos.

He/she didnt have far to drop but the crack was pretty wide spread. I quickly posted and got some wax. I happen to make candles so I have plan unmelted wax. I set off to perform Egg surgery. I am more worried about the amount of time he/she was out of the incubator while I get him/her all patched up. Took about 20 mins from start to finish. Will post pics later. WHen I was done with the wax, he/she was still moving. Why did this have to happen to a egg that is developing?

I think I have 2 quiters. I didnt toss anyone but I have one with a ? still and one that was marked "Dancing baby" that no longer had any movement

Good luck with the cracked egg! As for any "quitters", this late in the incubation, I wouldn't throw any out unless you're 100% sure. I had a chick that I thought was dead, but put it into lockdown anyway, and it ended up hatching lol

Does the Brinsea not come with "holes" to put the eggs in? LOVE it though, thinking I will order one here soon after I see if I am gonna enjoy my possible new hobby, LOL
