Anyone Setting Eggs Tonight 3/31/2011 - Come join me if you like!

I haven't been posting but reading because I went on vacation and didn't log out of my computer at home so I couldn't login on a different comp.
Anyway - It is day 21 for me tonight and I have nothing either. No rockin' or rollin'. I hope something happens soon.

It doesnt have to be though. I think a lot of it is the incubator. Sure many have sucess with LG's and Hovabators but many dont and those who own Brinseas NEVER complain about hatches. I have eggs developing beautifully in my Brisnea and I have since ordered two more!!! Sure I have not had a good hatch. It was my first time and I have learned a lot and everything comes easier with time. If you dont plan to incubate any more, what are you going to do with shipped eggs??

Mike, thank you so much for the info on the Faverolles and Dutch Bantam - it's going to be quite a drive (2 hrs and a fuming hubby

but I did find a breeder in my area and the seller is helping me to time the pick up of the eggs with the new Dickey I just purchased today...it'll be 3 weeks for the bator delivery but i'm soooooo excited!!!! I'm hoping it's cracked up to be all that it is as I wasn't sure if to get a Sportsman or the Dickey....but Dickey was priced cheapest so I got it instead....

What progress some of you have made!!!!!!

I posted my totals on another thread, I'll just copy and paste here:

My hatch is through for this thread. :sigh Of the 41 eggs I began with, 5 were clear, for a fertility rate of 87%. Not bad for a batch that was mostly shipped eggs! Of the remaining 36, 34 made it to lockdown. 21 of those hatched, for a hatch rate of 58%. Again, not bad for a batch that was mostly shipped eggs! There were 4 pure Silkies (out of 14 shipped) that hatched and 4 pure Ameraucana (out of 9 shipped) that hatched. The rest were my own Silkie-X and Easter Eggers. I also got 6 eggs out of a batch of shipped eggs that my partner in Chicken Math incubated, for a total of 27 new chicks! I am very happy with this hatch!

Congratulations to all!
