Anyone spooked by "Craigslist killing"?

I didn't even hear about this. Its a scary scary world though! I don't have many dealing son craigslist, but I've been contacted by some strange people. I always go with my gut feeling though. If someone creeps me out through email, there's NO WAY I'm going to meet them in person!

I usually bring a strong guy with me, or my dog. Not too many people will mess with you when you have those two things around! I still don't like the idea of meeting people, but when I do, I make sure its a populated area. I've never had issues before, but you never know what can happen!

I've been a member of Yahoogroups and have gone to people's home to pick up things that they're giving away for free. I've also had people come to my house to take things that I no longer wanted. I've always believed that if I accept something from someone, I should also give to someone else in kind.

Since these incidents, I've been more leery about participating in these groups, (even though I don't give out massages), because of the few sick people who are out there. Many sociopaths turned out to be people whom nobody would suspect of being capable of harm.

(Don't know if this is grammatically correct, but I hope you understand what I mean.)

It was just about a year ago that a young woman answered a CL ad for a nanny job, and she was murdered by the guy posing as a father looking for help.

It is not just "that" type of post that can be a lure. Unfortunately this could happen in any advertising situation, not just CL.

A person should never meet a stranger in a private location, and if possible bring along a friend or relative to cover your back.

The world has become a pretty crummy place!

Honestly, the world has always been a crummy place. We just get information so much quicker now and so much more efficient. As someone mentioned earlier, Jack the Ripper....and that was 1888.
