we've got a vulnerable area adjacent to the coop. it's at the forest edge and we've done our best to cut back a lot of the surplus vegetation; however, we know that we have predator pressure, most likely bobcat or fox, we've seen both and know those are excellent hunters!
we are considering getting a critter Gitter which is a battery operated motion sensing device that might deter the predator from advancing. what seems promising is that it can emit several different sounds.
with free ranging, we know we can't prevent all predators, we just are trying to minimize the free chicken dinners and encourage our wildlife friends to try one of the delicious rabbits instead.
