Anyone up to set their eggs on Valentine's day with me?

Candled my 10 last night, everyone still looking good.

My chart says I'm locking down today so I'd better get the hatcher cleaned out I guess. Still have two eggs in there! I must make sure not to set eggs 4 days apart in future!

Woot lockdown tomorrow. 4 little bantam eggs in last candling tomorrow. Inkheart what time of day did you set them? Lockdown is day 18 so if you set on Valentine day before say 2 or 3 pm, you should lockdown tomorrow afternoon early. If you set early in day then it is day 1.

Sounds like it's getting close now. I failed to resist

the urge to adjust the temp in my incubator and I'm not sure how much damage I caused but I guess we'll find out soon enough.

Just finished final candle. 7 black australorps, 5 GLW, and 4 salmon faverolles made it and look good.
So here we go! I better get some sleep tonight and tomorrow night.

That's right by my count. The way I do it is set day is actually day 0, next day is day 1......so by that math day 18 for you is Friday at around 7pm

Cool! Anyone else lockdown and hatch with eggs in the cartons - debating on taking them out for lockdown

Inkheart i didn't use egg cartons maybe on the next one...but i didn't have problems either...although i was getting those fuzzy butts out of there as soon as they dried off.....good luck on your hatches everyone keeping my fingers crossed

I've only used cartons, so I don't have any experience without them. I keep them in the carton(s) that they were incubated in, only differnece is that I put the whole carton in a mesh shower caddy (it has walls about 6" so the little buggers can't roam the bator at will). The carton only takes up 1/2 to 2/3 of the space in the shower caddy. I line the remaining space with paper towels.....then I wait...and wait......when they zip fully and stretch out, I quickly lift the little guy out of the carton and lay it down on the paper towel so he can wiggle out of the bottom half of the shell. Bear in mind that I incubate in an extra bathroom so I can use the shower for added humidity when i open uo the bator.
