Im just saying the minute you have more than one of anything anymore they want to call you a hoarder ! LOL
Thrilled to say i know FINALLY have the bator at perfection and holding - 101 and 47% humidity and holding - knock on wood !
I have 99 Coturnix Quail eggs cooking away in my two Brinsea Octagon 20's right now. Would've been 100, but I smashed one of the eggs on the side of the 'bator when I was setting them!
They're due to hatch March 5th or 6th (I set them late at night) - right around the same time all the chickies set on Valentine's Day should be hatching!
I have 4 roosters and around 70 hens.........to hard to count..........we sell eggs
no kidding! LOL In the spring we'll be back to suppling a couple farm markets and in August my husband will be going to the market in the city and they love the smaller eggs,so hopefully any pullets we get out of this hatch will be laying by then.
Everything is going well in the incubator, steady at 100F humidity at 58%...turner just turned
I have never done quail.....just chicken eggs Annarie. That too bad you lost that egg
When I'm collecting the eggs in the morning...I look at them differently now that I've hatched some.....every one is a potential chick in my eyes
Inkheart just saw the thread...I set 14 eggs in my Brinsea Oct 20 on Valentine's Day....They are Porcelain d'Uccles and a mutt mix of Frizzled Serama over OEGBs.
so far so good...temp and humidty holding near perfect. 99.7 and 45%
This is my first hatch in it, I had a Genesis 11588 and traded for the Brinsea and I am loving it.
I'm going to candle tomorrow before work. My DS told me he tried to candle one the other day when he got home from school. We hand turn the eggs and he's my helper for when I'm working.
