Well, life got in the way as someone said and then chased me for all it was worth, but the chicken house is done. Not the prettiest thing, but it is sturdy and no predators in it. This is how it looks in the winter. There is no plastic on the front most of the year and hardware cloth behind that all year plus a 4ft by 2 ft section in blue tin that I take off

the same on the east side so plenty of ventilation. In the summer it's cooler in there than outside. The cord is for winter light on a timer. The post across the front is just in case a creature ever figures out my self locking door latch, but none have so far.
I spent $ on a 4x8 ft piece of white polycarbonate? For the back side. It lets in a good amount of light but since is not clear it doesn't cook them. We have a lot of predator issues so before I screwed that in the back I put up a layer of hardware cloth underneath.
I also buried the tin sides about 8 inches. that was all I could dig in our hard ground. So far it's been plenty.
I framed in a doorway in an opening between 2 ladder rungs and put in a sliding door on a pull cord with a simple wooden frame inside. I have game camera pictures showing a skunk and different raccoons trying the door, but not even a scratch.
Problem: doing it again I wouldn't do roll out boxes. When my hens are broody they want to sleep in there and they're vulnerable. I had to cover the whole backside with hardware cloth and someday intend to take them out and go back to cut open milk crates.
