I'm trying to get insurance through my work - its DANG expensive and thats why I haven't joined up before! I might get it - but I don't know they have certain times of the year when you can sign up.

I've been looking on the internet - could be some kind of Cyst as well..... I wont' be eating anymore grapes thats for sure!

I just want to tell you all that i put my DH on atkins and i got him from 233 lbs down to 165. He rests now at 175. The 165 was too low for him and i actually told him he needs to go back up. I used it in 2000 and got down to 130 lbs. kept it off til last winter when i gained a few back. I swear it works to watch your sugar/ carb intake more than anything. Cut carbs in anyway you can and you will lose weight. That is my reason for getting chickens/wanting the eggs. On atkins you can eat eggs and meat all you want. morning noon and night. I promise it will work......its not all evil unless you let it be. You have to be responsible when using any diet. Good Luck everyone

Hey Lurky, I agree, Atkins is great, or for that matter anything that is low carb works wonders. You have to be committed, but once you begin, it's real easy, and you lose the taste for carbohydrates and sweets, which makes it easier for you during the process.

But you have to remember that a diet is a way of eating for life not a passing trend that alot of people tend to do. Once you don't follow any diet, it's bye bye time and hello chunkville.

I work HR. Open enrollment for insurance is usually at the end of each year for the following year. BUT... you can also sign up if you have a major life event, like spouse loosing job, child being born or lost, stuff like that. Have to apply within 30-90 days of event (depends on your plan). Talk to Human Resources where you work.

Exactly......my weight stayed off til last Nov-Dec when my mother gave me a recipe for a homemade candy. It was that 'tree bark' stuff. Toffee with white chocolate and nuts on top. I decided to make it to give to people over the holidays and could not stop eating it. I was NEVER so addicted to anything in my life. So If i ever get rid of the 15 lbs of tree bark......I'll never do it again. If my birds would start laying eggs

that would help alot!!!

I wouldn't mind getting involved, too. I would love to get back down to my 185, size 10-12, pre-babies weight. *sigh*

Right before I got preggo with our second kiddo, I did the Core plan on Weight Watchers, and the "Walk Away the Pounds with Leslie Sansone" DVD, and lost 36 pounds. Then, of course, became promptly preggo and gained it ALL back, plus 11 pounds.

Walk away the pounds in an excellent weight loss program for home bodies like me. Only trouble is, my 4 year old laughs hysterically at me while I'm doing it.

Chelly--around here there are county-sponsored free clinics--there might be some in your area too! I went there to get checked out a couple of times when I was down-and-out in school--and just like they say, they're free or hardly anything.

*SIGH*

Okay, so I'm female... 5'7 (according to my driver's license!) more like 5'6-ish and....

170 lbs, according to my OBGYN. Like I said, I've gained 40 lbs in 2 months--yes, probably a hormonal thing, but I really need to exercise more; plus that and I feel like crudoodles. My goal weight is back to 130, pant size 4/6.

I have some jeans that I still have from a few months ago--I can still fit in them. It's just not pretty.

I'm also 23 (someone else said they were); and have got low thyroid, Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, an ED/recovering ED (NO CHICKEN-VIAGRA JOKES--the other ED!)...wow! I'm seriously messed up! I'll really need some encouragement in a few weeks when the lab starts back up again and I get to sit all day long.....

That's me - I'm 23.....but with all my joint pain I feel sooooooo old. Whatever exercise I do has to be low impact. It's not a weight issue with the joint pain, just something I was born with. I'm maybe (at last check) 145. I was 115 before kids. I'd be plenty happy with 120.

Hey all!

America on the Move is celebrating "Steptember" with the idea that you can lose weight just be adding a few steps to your daily routine and watching your calorie intake (stepping it down slowly). Here's the site for joining up, and they have a free promotional 'toolkit' as well.

Maybe this is something we can all follow to measure ourselves against each other? This would track daily improvements rather than an arbitrary goal. Whatcha think?

I SIGNED UP! Looks interesting.

Ok, here's my day so far. It's about 10 til 10am. I woke up BEFORE my kids (they usually wake me up) around 8:30am. Took my husband to work.

What I ate: A bowl of Kashi Go Lean Crunch (the one with almonds) with 2% milk. I'm not sure what amount it is, but I can tell you I'm using a 10oz. paper bowl.

I'm also having a lemon Propel. It's the kind you mix in your own bottle of water.

What I wanted to eat: A piece of cream cheese coffee cake....mmmmmm.....

I think I'm doing good so far. Oh yes, and I'll be having a cup of coffee too.
