Yesterday there was a possum on the way to the coop...let the dog out, cause she always comes out with me when I go shut the coop and bring in the food, she almost got 'em but it just barely got away. That's fine with me, I don't want my dog getting hurt, but tomorrow we are going to set up a live capture trap (what are they called??) and hopefully be able to relocate it so it doesn't hurt my chickens.
We've had other close calls last year too... lots of possums in our area. Raccoons too.

Sure.
A couple of weeks ago, a hawk went after my birds. Cornered a couple of them against a fence. Attacked four hens, including one half-grown pullet, and failed to get any of them before I came out. Left a bunch of feathers all over the place, but everyone was fine.
It was the most spectacular fail that this hawk has pulled off yet.

Sure.
