My first bator hatched 0/16 quail eggs. But next hatch 7/8 chicken eggs.

Mostly I find broody hens to put eggs under when I need to, but incubating would be helpful.Aww, you shouldn't give up that quickly.

WELCOME!!!
Mutts are good fun to hatch, so many colours and variations.
Do you have any pictures of your DIY bator, that is such a good idea using an aquarium. Have you used Styrofoam? It works real well at keeping the warmth in.
Good luck with your hatch, I think many beginners have had many troubles. It's all part of the fun really and next time you can improve and improve.
