Anyone want to hatch with me? - Went in 01/16/14.

I have 4 that are moving around a lot. 2 that still look like duds, but I'm waiting until lock down to toss them, aand I have 3 that I just can't tell. Those 3 are brown & hard to figure out.

I just candled as well, as I have a staggered hatch....They will all be candled for the last time tomorrow night, as I work 16 hour shifts on the weekends and lockdown starts promptly at 5pm on Sunday! Hatch day 1 on Wednesday!

I have 9 total still in, but I have one I am almost certain is a quitter and 2 that I am unsure of. If that only leaves me 6 out of a total of 16 I will be happy since this is my first, and I mean FIRST ever hatch!

So mine officially are in lockdown. I candled one last time before 4pm, and I decided that my #4 was dead because it's shadow couldn't hold a candle to the others'. I I cracked it open to find out that I was right. It had died probably when they all fell, because it was about the same size as the other ones were that had broke open. That helped me to feel better because I had a horrible thought on what happens if it exploded.. Well now I don't have to worry. There is another one that I am worried may have died, BUT if it is, It's not likely to explode in the next three days. Phew. Also, to prepare for lockdown, I set up the lamp, to hang above the eggs rather than sitting on the floor of the tank. I have no fear that the hopefully chicks-to-be will burn themselves when they hatch. I feel a lot better about the whole thing this evening.

Mine don't move just odd shaped.

You need a very strong light Lucas.

Woolworths special head torch for bike riders. Brand name is x. Streem. It has magnify lens so illuminates 400 meters. This means condensed ( to close things) it's powerful enough for me to see
