Looking forward to seeing some cute fuzzy pictures when your eggs hatch! I still have no good signs from my batch that was supposed to hatch on Sunday. My new batch that I set just yesterday is coming along fine.

Put 12 eggs in our home-made incubator. Our first chick is hatching now! So exciting. I can't stay away from the thing! I'm guessing we may only get one more. Looks like we had 2 duds, and the rest seemed to have only gone a week or so. Hopefully we don't have a lonely chick

I had a horrible hatch, out of 16 that made it to lockdown only three hatched and only one of those survived the first 48 hours... The chick is beside me as we speak in its brooder chirping up a storm, not happy unless I am holding it or got my hand on it... I found a lady near me with a broody hen that she was unable to get eggs under (she has no rooster), the hen has been broody for alittle over two weeks so she is picking up the chick tonight... They are such social creatures and although I am sure it can be done I will not have house chicken and cannot bear the thought of putting this lonely one out in the brooder by itself.

I'm hatching along with you guys! I've been trying to find an active thread for hatching... I have everything for a perfect hatch! I hope!
I have had several bad ones so I've really been trying to fine tune things!

I have 17 silkie and sizzle eggs in the incubator. On day 3! I'm doing things by the book, no candling until day 7, 14 and then lock down on 18!
I can't wait to post pictures.
