DAY 18..

Well I am in lockdown...99 temp...71 humidity....only 10 eggs still look good...4 look like quitters(2 at about day 10)....Thats 15 out

Cross all fingers and toes,send some prayers,that something hatches...I still have 7 in from 2 other settings.

I am sad and nervous!!

Just got home from state fair. We have 4 Silkies hatched out. We have 2 blue Cochins hatched out and not sure if these were listed yet on here but there are 2 more Sumatras.

Brought 2 Araucana chicks and several Sumatra chicks home from the fair as well that hatched today or yesterday.

We are Chick Crazy Loving People!!!

Got home from the hospital today to 6 Silver Laced Wyondotte babies, that's what I went into lockdown with. My DH did a great job at keeping the humidity up. Plus, I had given four eggs to a gal with a broody, she now has two hatchecd, may get another by tomorrow.
Now, I have some mixes..5 more... that are due to hatch on Sat. The dad is a huge beautiful buff Orpinton, the hens are black sex link and I have one green egg from a real pretty blue/golden EE. Again, all the babies are from the big buff guy.
It was so nice to come home to the cute little fuzzy butts.

Here is our chick count as of Thursday evening:
2 Black Cochins
2 Blue Cochins
6 Black Sumatras
7 Silver Phoenix
4 White Silkies
1 Black Breasted Red Araucana
(22 chicks hatched this week so far)

Here is the list of chicks we were blessed with from the State Fair today:
2 Black Breasted Red Araucanas
1 Lakenvelder
10 Black Sumatras
(blessed with 13 chicks)
Maybe 3 more Lakenvelder if a friend does not take them.

Picks coming later maybe tomorrow night after returning from the State Fair (Judging is Friday).
