Silkie chick update..... Too many!!! Their wearing me out! We have 20 now in the brooder, 7 left to hatch, 3 still drying in the Bator and lost two that had pipped but nothing more. By the time I decided to intervene it was too late, poor little chicks... None the less we have 20 crazy chicks eating and drinking happily.. Oh and they are WAY CUTE!

Yes, your right! I also have 30 in the other Bator with 8 more resting then going in tomorrow. What was I thinking!!!!

My incubator is chirping again so that makes a total of 10 with two more eggs left (one pipped and the other too darn dark to see through to see if there is an internal pip).

I know what you mean!! Chicks are addicting and then they grow into to full size birds that eat a lot more food.

A Black Silkie and a Blue Silkie won the Silkie Best of Breed and Reserve Breed today at the State Fair. They were pretty. Beat our White one!
