Anyone with hatch date Oct 15-25?!? Check out this thread!

Some of mine went 24 hours between the pip hole and zipping - I think they spend so much effort on breaking through and making that little hole that they need a good long rest breathing room air before they get going for the big move. There are also important physiological changes in the last day or two, with the chick finishing absorbing the yolk fully into the abdomen and shutting down the veins that run through to the egg surface so that the chick doesn't bleed on hatching. So it's important to sit tight and let those changes happen.

With mine, once zipping started, things went pretty fast from there

Thank you..... I read a lot of people questioning to jump the gun and help...told myself I wouldn't do that.. but now here I am biting my nails... I just got a peek at it still moving in there...pushed a little part of the shell out too a little...so I guess its still workin at it .... just didn't want my first and only egg to fail ....

Okay you guys. So, I have had 8 out of 10 hatch so far but I still have one that has been zipping since yesterday. I came home from work and it was zipping but not sure when it began. It had pipped as of Sunday night really late. So, my question is should I go ahead and pull out the eight chicks and put them in the brooder? Not sure if I should since the one is still zipping and I believe the last egg has pipped. I am afraid of it messing up the humidity and shrink wrapping the little guys. The one that is zipping is still trying and I can tell it is breathing good but it doesn't seemed to have progressed much since last night....should I help? Just wanted to get a few opinions because I am going to be leaving for work soon and they will have to wait until 6pm this evening.

Good morning everyone. We have a Phoenix egg that has a pipped out spot on day 20.

We better get that Brooder box ready soon!

Will be bathing chickens today for State Fair!! It is rather cold outside this morning. Probably have to bathe inside.

Haven't read post yet, but will soon!!

Hope everyone had a good night and lots of chicks this morning.

That is awesome!!!!!!! Good fertility and good incubating!! Perfect environment for growth!!

I heard a chick peep about an hour ago (the only one that is pipped).

My daughter just heard a chick peep also. She and my hubby did not believe I heard one since it was not continuing where they could here it.

Man it is cold here today!! Very Windy making it down right COLD!!

Been tending to the chickens outside after the storm last night.

Going out to get brooder room ready.
