Anyone with hatch date Oct 15-25?!? Check out this thread!

Hang in there Cattitude. Resist the urge. It was hard for me but the group talked me down a couple of times. lol

Still tempted because I have two that I can't tell what is going on.

I put a big note on the incubator in lockdown! I taped it shut too! I don't trust my hubby to not open it out of curiosity with no clue as to why he shouldn't.

I have 18 silkies already and now many more, I hope!

These two hatches have my favorite colors in them, porcelain, lavender, paint, partridge etc.

I am building my silkie flock. I have a columbian roo, splash roo and one buff hen. I am hoping for some hens out of this batch. I have three chicks that a frizzle hatched for me and now my buff hen is on 10 eggs or so. So, hoping my odd are good for some hens. Then I need to seek out some unrelated roos. May order some eggs! I am already thinking about what is going in next.

Lol! I ordered all of these eggs with the exception of a few lavenders from my own...

Good idea! I'm off to paste the note on the incubator right now!

Glad to hear that everyones hatchings are doing great!!!! Love the pics of the chicks! So cute!! Just wanted hold them.

Ours are on day 19 just sitting and resting I guess. There has been a little bit of movement today.

Got the feeders cleaned up and ready.

Hubby wired the other socket in the brooder room. The temp in there right now is 80 so it should not hard to keep it warm for them.

Picked up bulbs for the heat lamps today.

Now need to get the brooder boxes filled with bedding and get the heat lamps hung over them.

Good luck all with your chicks!!!!

Lol! First thing my husband did was come home, read the note and say "what's that?", it's a KEEP OUT reminder!

I guess that's the downside to letting the hen do the work, I can't see the eggs move around. would love to though.

We are about a week out now, I haven't ever been able to see much when I candle, except last night I saw the air sac in the egg. That appears to be getting larger. So, fingers crossed we have chicks in a week.

Second hatch is Halloween, with the silly hen stealing another egg about 2 maybe 3 days into her setting. Hoping she waits for the late egg to hatch as I don't have an incubator.

The late is freakin huge compared to my banties, hoping it isn't a duck or a hawk or some such. I can't get into the nest box as BOTH hens turn on me! The rotten little stinkers!
