Anyone with me?

What a great present!!! I would always want ducks as a gift...But I would have to have more space to keep them all.

What a rough time...So much sadness in that family.... I hope health wise things turn around for them all soon.

Thats so sad....

Well..I have 6 eggs in lockdown..I ended up leaving the big egg in the main incubator..The last thing that egg needs is higher humidity if it has any chance to hatch still. I will continue to monitor it when I turn the other eggs over the next few days- But I dont think it will hatch.

Congratualtions everyone!

I am so sad. My other butter died in the egg. I guess he couldn't make the turn. I didn't see any movement in there this a.m. and called duckluck and she gave me instructions for helping, but the little one was already gone. And the black never developed. LOL, I am actually crying a little over that little butter. And I feel silly.

But, the other, our Pigeon, is going for it! So we will most likely have one. I don't know where to find her a friend. All my ducklings are too big and the local feed stores are all done with their babies this year. We are in Oregon, I've checked craigslist, any ideas?

chickboss~ I decided not to candle the eggs. My broody only gets off of the eggs once in the morning around 6 for about 10 minutes then again around 5 pm. The sun is up and shinning bright at those times. Two days ago I did glance around in the nest and she had this one egg on top of the others everytime she got off. Everyone other egg was always placed neatly around in a circle with feather and and grass covering them when she gets off. But this one egg was always just sitting on top. I picked it up and it actualy had a crack starting around it and it stunk. I put it in the garbage then my hubby asked if I broke it to see what was inside. So of course we had to take it out and brake it open and there was a lot of yellow chunky yoke and a brown blob.

So it must have quit a long time ago. I didn't want to pick anymore up but all the rest looked like they were ok, no cracks and all in place.

To my best guess she should be down sitting some time this weekend. The terrible part is that we are going to the lake this weekend. So I am really hoping they will wait until we get back.

I had a chick egg do that with the thick yellow gunky stuff. Pretty gross. I'll send some good vibes about that hatch waiting for you!
