AP saddle, whadya think?

I've decided to get a Wintec saddle, with the CAIR panels and gullet change system. The question is, should I buy the 500 dressage or the 500 all purpose? I've had an AP saddle in the past and i didn't like it, but that may have been the make. Whadya think? Are APs worth the purchase, or should I start with the dressage and save for a jumping saddle?

It all depends what you are riding, jumping or flatwork?

Wintec is a very good name brand saddle and many of Paso Fino people use those! Most of them ride them in dressage style.

I rode on Wintecs for years, and just loved them. My "grown-up" saddle was a gorgeous Barnsby AVG dressage saddle that cost 4 times as much, and it was a wonderful saddle--but it had nowhere near the versatility of the Wintecs.

Can you find a dealer that would let you try a Wintec AP? Even most online dealers these days will let you try out a saddle, but it's tricky because you have to keep it in absolutely pristine condition, usually, in order to return it.
