We are getting ready to put our chickens into our big coop with a 5 gallon water cooler with pvc and chicken nipples. I'm looking for a way to keep the water fresh and clean inside the cooler so we don't have to take it apart and clean it. I was planning on adding Apple Cider Vinegar to the water, but I am worried about the metal in the chicken nipples. Is the metal in the nipples enough to cause a reaction to the water similar to the galvanized cans? Any advice including alternate suggestions for keeping slime out of the water would be appreciated! Thanks!
