I give my chicks ACV in their water. They don't seem to mind it. I read they like it. I figure if it had been for people why not chicks too. I don't see how it could hurt them.

*The ACV is thought to taste good to chickens and encourages them to drink more. The ACV will also help keep your chickens' water free of harmful bacteria and algae. The optimal range for your flock's drinking water is a ph of 4. That creates the most unfriendly environment for bad bacteria.

But they can have apples? Aren't the ingredients Apple's and vinegar?

Chickens can eat apples if you remove the seeds. And apple cider vinegar takes up to 2 months to ferment the apples (filtered water and sugar), which is what induces its highly beneficial probiotic state. So any properly fermented food/liquid is substantial better to consume than non fermented.

Like everything else, what you have to start with matters. 😆
If ACV helps you achieve the proper PH-- 🤷‍♀️--
Clearly, dependent on where you are, what your original water source is, and how/if it has been treated would be proper considerations.
But is there actual benefit to ACV..? YES-- it's specific and situational, but it's not a matter of 'Can this be good?' as there IS research that says it can be.
