apple cider vinegar

One capful for a gallon waterer. I started at 1 week of age. You can start any time. Any age. I had one chick with poop that would stick to her fluff. Problem disappeared after the acv.
No metal waterer. Just plastic waterers as it leaches zinc out of the galvanized steel and you'll rust it out and make your birds sick.

Acv populated the gut with good bacteria. Which then competes out bad bacteria. Creates good gut health for processing proteins in feeds and helps your birds feather and fill out.

Organic is good but should not be a deal breaker. I find the usda is loose with their organic label. What you're looking for is 'the mother' which is the cloudy inoculated acv. You can buy any acv if you're low in the good stuff and inoculate it ( pour a splash in the new and start your own new colonies of the ' mother'.

I give it to all 45 chickens and seven ducks. But not all the time. Once a month or so. I also ferment feed too. This works as well for good "gut" health. The ACV works well for people too! I only use Bragg's or from the health food store.I use a couple capfuls to a gallon. They loved from the beginning.

I am not particular what vinegar I use in the chicken's water. I just put it in at about a cup to a 5 gal waterer. they seem to drink more water with it in there.. I never actually did a study on it.
it also seems to help keep the waterer from getting slimy/dirty. .

I know alot of people on here give their hens apple cider vinegar. How much do you give, and do you just mix it in with the water. How often do you give it? At what age should you start giving it?

What are some of the health benefits?
I use 1 capful per each gallon of water. For instance, my self-waterer holds 3 gallons of water, so I put 3 capfuls each time I fill it. My 1 gallon waterer gets 1 capful when I fill it.

The
So the only benefits are it helps get rid of and prevent worms?
The benefits of ACV promoted good digestion, aids in eliminating bad bacteria, etc. ACV does not take care of a worm problem, nor prevent it. Google benefits of Apple Cider Vinegar for chickens and you will see first hand, the benefits. My grandparents swore by it, and I use it. 1 capful per gallon of water, every time I refill my waterers. I used to drink ACV myself before meals. It helps digest food and helped me better than probiotic products (once you get past the taste).
