Appropriate treats

Can feeding chicks insects and worms without grit make them sick? Does age matter? My chicks are 11-18 days old.

I give mine the occasional meal worms, or small worms from the garden. I also throw a small handful of chick grit on the floor of their coop every few days. Haven't tried one without the other though. I suspect they will be fine.

Do you have a brahma named Obama? We have friends with a llama named Obama. LOL

Chicks will need grit to eat bugs- especially any bugs that have a hard shell. You could give them mashed up boiled egg and yogurt as a treat without grit
