Pardon their messiness They are filthy these days regardless of what we use in their brooder. 5.5 weeks old and turning into cool looking mix breeds. They’ve begun their puberty quaaaaaaaacxxkkkkking as well. Hoping for mostly ladies as I don’t need anymore drakes but don’t want to get rid of any of these either LOL

They really do make big messes but it’s worth it

4 I hatched in my incubator are 2 -2.5 weeks old. Staggered hatch
Mom had 3 eggs left and 2 were not able to external pip and died. Baby 3 was in the wrong end so I took it and it hatched last night after 50 hours I had to do a full assist it was stuck
I’m about to take it back down to mom as she is still sitting on chicken eggs now as I removed her dead eggs. This baby was our last hope for her to be a mom after sitting her whole time. Baby is named Hope.
Cross all your fingers and toes mom accepts the baby
Mom is Pekin and dad is khaki Campbell
Yes my Pekin sat her whole time. Very dedicated to her nest. Babies were late as this is day 32 and baby was born on day 31. She is my only girl as her sister died months ago
So I’m really hoping for girls

Well on the plus side, I bought 3 more runner hens from Snoozin Goose Ranch (after this batch hatched), so I might wind up with some cool runner mixes if I hatch again in the future!

6.5 weeks old. Think this one is likely a drake. Is this just a dark blue or what? His head and chest look so dark, almost black. And then his back looks a bit lighter. But he’s definitely darker than my blue swedish female adult I already have, so not sure what color he would be?

He is very dark but he is beautiful!

Finally got photos of them clean “ish” with a freshly cleaned brooder.

Mostly white runner mix-female
3 fawn/white runner mixed (at least 1, maybe 2 are females)
Lighter blue Swedish looking mix - female
Darker blue swedish looking mix- likely male

They are 6.5 weeks old and have most
Of their feathers. Hopefully the weather will cooperate in another few weeks so they can move outside soon. But they are cute!

Cleaned out their brooder and picked them up to voice sex them. 4/6 are definitely female. 1/6 definitely male. Last one I’m thinking female but not 100% sure yet. If we get 5/6 female that means I can keep all 6!!!
