April 1st. setting.. *hatching*| need a buddy.

My first batch was mostly comprised of BCM's. If you hold the light directly on top of the air cell you'll be able to see it clearly. I candle with a small, powerful maglite flashlight and shine it downward through the air cell to see it.

I'm living vicariously through you folks I'm in the process of building the cabinet incubator that I found here. I'm not quite ready to try a hatch yet so I'm following closely and dreaming of the day I will try my first hatch. please keep theupdates comming and good luck to eack of you. I hope to learn much from all of your experiances.

What is that beautiful light brown speckled egg you have in your incubator?

Well, it is supposed to be a Welsummer like all the rest (minus the two EE's).

Hopefully it'll hatch and we'll confirm. You are right though, that one threw me as well.

What did you use to write on your eggs? I was thinking I'd mark after candling before lockdown. to see which ones are alive and the questionables.

I started a thread as to what to write with on eggs and got a lot of different answers. I started out doing crayon (dark eggs and all) but ended up using a sharpie like others had. I just want to know they are turning when they are supposed to!

I used a artist pencil which is a lot darker and deeper than a regualt pencil since I have chocolate eggs. Sharpie sounds like a good idea as well.

Hey everyone! I set too on April 1st. I'm a addict and can't stop putting eggs in the incubator. I candle on day 3 to look for veins. Looking forward to this thread, sounds like alot of fun.
