April 2020 Hatch-A-Long! All are welcome!

@kelseyk how do you set alerts? I have a new govee I’ve been using and love the app feature but I couldn’t find anything about setting an alert or a range.

I can definitely help with that! Open the app and then tap on the area of the screen with the data of the govee sensor you want to adjust the range, set the alarm for, name, or calibrate. In my example below, I tapped the temperature reading for my hovabator. It will take you to a screen with 2 graphs (one for temp and one for humidity). In the upper right corner there is a gear shaped setting icon (I circled in red in the second picture) - tap on it. It will take you to another screen that, from top to bottom: 1)let's you name that sensor; 2)let's you create a range for temp and toggle that alarm on and off; 3)let's you create a range for humidity and toggle that alarm on and off; 4)calibrate the temp and humidity - this page is shown in my last 2 pictures. Use the back arrow in the upper left to exit the different screens.

Oh I hope it resolves. Quail are so tiny!!!! Could you even splint it?

here’s the egg in bator. I have a feeling those blood spots are from a step. With this much veining there’s no way it was trying to zip and she attacked it.

I think it all comes down to moving her when I did. And I gave her too much space for just moving her. Right now she is acting like a perfect momma. I just checked and she has one hatched!!

I tried but it was so hard, it got out of the splint 😂 that's why it's in a cup.

I had a chicken chick that wasn't pipping. I went to see why and it only had a bottom beak. I ended it's life. It wouldn't have been able to eat.

Yayyyyy!!!! You found local Delawares???

mare you hatching from Dawnridge now?
They didn’t really survive shipment 😓 those are the ones that died in shell. The ones in now are from deer run but I’m not holding breath.
I found a last who has a strain of “Oregon Delaware’s” so I’m really hoping they do well lol. I should have just kept the bielfelders last year hahahaha

Argh. What a bummer.

did you at least get a cool wooden egg from deer run with the eggs? 😂

Bummer. How many quail did you hatch are you keeping them?
Only 4 out of 22 eggs because most of them were clears. I did just buy some more from a different breeder called myshire because everyone told me that they were better. I have 30 eggs from them that will be hatching in about 2 weeks.

The ones that just hatched I'm hoping that I at least get a decent female and maybe a male. If I don't see any that I like I will be selling them or using them for meat. I want to make sure that my breeders look very good.
