All of this makes tons of sense! I’m learning lots about Lavender from this thread haha. Ok so - I have some Easter Eggers that are black and their dad was a Lavender Ameraucana...that makes them black split to lavender right? What are the color outcomes if I potentially bred them?
If you have two splits and breed them together you have chance at a black (25%) Lavender (25%) Split to Lav (50%) This graphic shows the first gen black and lav.

This one shows the splits and what you would get when you bred them together.

So split to split would give you more splits which would look black and 25% straight black that doesnt' carry lavender and 25% Lavender. An even better way to do it if you already have a Lavender bird would be to breed back to a Lavender because then you would get 50% Lavender birds from the breedings.

I actually don’t have any Lavender birds right now. So what are the odds mine are splits and not just black if they had a Lavender dad and a mom that was unknown color - maybe black as the hens are half BCM? That first chart seems to be for BBS so I am not totally sure how that one applies.
