April 2021 Hatch - A - Long

I have health food store eggs, store is one town over, the farm where the eggs came from are 2 miles from my house. due on 4-10. Mystery eggs, all I know is the farm has roosters. I am sure they were washed but I do have 11 developing.

Just started another 15 eggs due to hatch on the 16th. All are a mix of Brahma hens and either a Brahma or amberlink rooster. And since everyone loves pics here’s a little lady that was born 6 days ago. I think she’s a happy little napper

So the shipped eggs are delayed again!
Were suppose to be here this morning, but will likely be here tomorrow.
On another note, I just tossed 12 out of 13 paint I have on the Easter HAL.
Crossing my fingers for the one that is left.
On a positive note, TWO of my silkie girls are laying now, one splash, one partridge, so adding their eggs to the incubator. The whole point of these shipped eggs though was to get some new bloodlines and colors that I do not have.
Out of 35 shipped silkie eggs from February and March, only one hatched and was viable. I sent the eggshell in for genetic testing. It is a boy of course. He is a beautiful blue, so I thought I would keep him but now I can see he has a single comb!
Maybe I am not supposed to be raising silkies...

well one things for sure, if your incubator is still warm, you can still hatch more. Hope you have success the next ones.

Bad news. My eggs might not make it. I have a Little Giant incubator and egg turner, and the egg turner has maybe 2 weeks' worth of use total. Yesterday I noticed that it didn't seem to be moving, but it moves really slowly, so I kept an eye on it. Nope, not turning at all. It failed. So now I have eggs that may not have been turned since Sunday. I took the setup apart and checked. Everything is set up correctly, and this is the correct turner for this incubator. I did not get water on the motor or electrical part. It just died. When TSC opens this morning, I'll call them and see about exchanging it.

Any recommendations for a quality brand?

Update/Edit: I shook the turner and now it's going--for the minute. I'll be getting a new setup before hatching again.

So sorry to hear this. The NR 360 is an excellent incubator. I believe TSC carries them.

Haha what the heck are those dust balls? Silkie? I’ve never seen them that color here.
