April 2021 Hatch - A - Long

Pics
Hi All! Mind if I join your Hatchalong? This will be my very first time to hatch a clutch myself. I usually get at least one broody hen a year and let her do all the work but they are getting older and no signs of broodiness and we need to replenish our laying hens so I get to be the Broody Old Hen this time lol So I'm definitely learning as I go. I have the Nurture Right 360, let it run for several hours yesterday to make sure it would stay at the correct temp and humidity, etc, and then at 8:30 pm last night put in 22 eggs. They will be quite interesting. I have an EE roo and my hens are columbian wyandotte, barnevelders, silver laced wyandotte, one easter egger hen, and buff brahma bantams. So who knows what all of those mixed with my EE roo will turn out to be, I'm excited to find out lol Hatch date is April 13th, I can't wait! So I may have lots of questions etc along the way, hope you don't mind!

Welcome! Can't wait to see the chicks out of these interesting combinations.😊

Hey guys! This is my very first hatch along! This is my second time hatching eggs, last time 2/3 eggs hatched. This time I am setting 6 eggs and the hatch date is April 13th....... SO exciting!! I have an RIR Rooster and a California white hen so can't wait to see what I get!

I'm not hatching (can't have roos here), but I do have 15 chicks hatching at the end of April! Mine are coming from Meyer Hatchery though... hatch day is supposed to be April 26, so I assume "my eggs" are being set in a week or so. I'm so excited to have chicks/hens again! This will be my 6 and 8 year olds' first time with chicks, my oldest was a baby when the last of our last flock passed away (from old age related issues).

Happy setting everyone! I can't wait to see all the babies!

Welcome! What a great experience for the kids to see the chicks hatch (I still think it is pretty exciting to see those littles crack out of the shells)!🥰
What breeds are you getting?
We aren't hatching them, but have ordered 1 golden-laced wyandotte, 1 Deleware, 3 EE, 5 "assorted rare breed", and 5 "production day pack"! All females (at least that's what I ordered) So, not sure what we will end up with other than the 5 I speciically picked out, but that means I could get practically anything they hatch that day!

Yes, I edited my post when I saw I misunderstood!🤣
Nice breeds. Will be fun to figure out what you get out of the assortment!
