They are pretty cute. I am not used to chickens with feathered legs so that seems weird but I like these ones.
I just realized I never actually posted any pics of my April chicks so I will have to try and get some of those now.

They are cute! Hard to tell the exact color in the lighting, almost look buff?
Before I got silkies I always shied away from chickens with feathered legs.
It always suprises me how clean they stay, even the white ones.
I only have one healthy cochin chick left.
One passed last night and the third one is in the ICU with a few fellow patients.

For me April is over...for hatching that is. I put 54 chicks in the brooders this morning.

24 Heritage Rhode Island Reds
17 Cream legbars
11 Speckled Sussex
and a Welsummer egg got in with the SS, so 1 Welsummer

Ok finally here are pics of my 2 April chicks, incubated under a hen & hatched in the incubator. They are both Swedish Flower hens, 8 days old.

Yesterday I went back to N40 with DH and they had NN which I ordered nn eggs from NC but they still have not come. I wanted to have some. I also got a speckled sussex, and a barnevelder which was others I didn't currently have.

The 3 chicken eggs I stagger hatched with my April duck hatch (not ideal I know) are due to hatch Tuesday.

Candled last night & they are moving & look about right. Here’s hoping all 3 make it out without scissor beak or hunch backs.

I was kinda worried they would never come so I panic bought 2 NN from feed store and other chicks...

Our first Ameraucana to hatch out.....in the wee hours of day 20. Second one out (didnt take a picture yet), is a lavender orpington....afternoon of day 20.
8 more Ameraucanas and 1 more LO to go, many have externally pipped, some haven’t yet. I’m glued to the incubator! I’m sure I will be up in the night to check!
