April 2022 hatch-a-long (non-Easter, and Easter welcome)

I've got a Silkie that just hatched and another one pipped. Some of the other eggs have been wiggling, so won't be long!

I'm a little late updating with this last batch, but 19 made it to lockdown. 17 hatched on the 5-6th, one died shortly after it hatched (RIP Han Solo). I waited until day 23 or 24 for those last 2 eggs. I candled them and there was no movement in either of them and they hadn't even internally pipped. One looked "swishy", so I took them out. Cleaned out the incubator and started the next batch.

Definitely taking a break after this one, lol. They are due to hatch the 27th or so.

I don't have the 3 Marans chicks in these pics, and I traded 2 Legbar pullets for 2 chocolate orpington chicks and they aren't in these pics either. All of these chick are either pure CL or 3/4's CL.

I set these on the 7th (I think). I've got 4 EE eggs in there, the rest were CL or CL mix. I candled a few days ago and had 3 clears which I tossed already. One of the EE eggs looks like a possible quitter at this point, but I left it in. The rest all look good - big veins and bouncy embryos.

I had 7 hatch overnight, excited to see them fluffed up. 4 more to go.

I have three bantam buff Brahma eggs that made it to lockdown and one looked to have internally pipped already. We shall see how they do! I sure hope I get all three but I’m not terribly hopeful I only had 6 to start with and they’re shipped, which generally means at least one DIS by the last day :-(

4 are Ameraucana, 2 Olive eggers and the other 5 are either BCM or Cochin/ameraucana mix. I should have tried to keep better track of what came out of which egg!

Here's my babies that hatched! All six eggs hatched which I'm super happy about!

And 3 Polish (Their parents were a mix of tolbunt, gold laced, all sorts of varieties)

The black chick to the right is doing well, She had to be helped out of her egg day 22 and had a bit of an out-ie, I put her in with chicks that were 1 week younger than her hatch mates. She is filling in nicely. Below was when she just hatched.
