Great, thanks! Now I just need to convince the family that we can’t keep any barred ones just because they look like Barred RocksYes, I believe any barred chicks will be boys!![]()
D’Uccles haven’t been doing well here either, but one has pipped I thinkI’m on Day 18 for my first batch of April eggs and all looks good! I think the one d’Uccles egg that made it this far may not make it to hatch, but everything else looks promising!
I set a new batch tonight of bobtail bantam Cochin eggs—12 eggs—due 4/23. I’m so hopeful we get a few to hatch!![]()
Happy hatching! You are definitely very welcome to share your cuties with us! One rule though… Share tons of picsCan I play?
Set 12 SDW and BBR OEGB pure and cross eggs in my Brinsea Eco Mini on March 41. ETA: 3/19-3/2.
Did my first candling this morning officially and could spot vascularization in all but one egg. It looks very porous for some reason and is hard to visualize.
Scene the evening of the 31st right after loading so the numbers on my secondary thermometer look a little wonky.

I'm proud of this hatch. This will be my bantams 4th generation. I bought the breeding stock as vaccinated birds thanks to spending the previous three years fighting Marek's disease.
There is life with and after Marek's!
