One more hatched... "April Rose" and one more coming, I am going to call her "Adverb." Pics soon. all 6 hatched.

I have put the chicks in a brood box. The younger ones are currently in a cage so the white chick cannot get to the newer birds.

Candled the eggs in the Sportsman before putting them on lockdown today. The BCM eggs were just a bit too dark for me to candle in the room I was in at the time, so I just put those all on lockdown. Of all the remaining eggs, 18 were not viable (several were simply clear). Ended up with 68 eggs total on lockdown, which isn't too bad imho for eggs that made an 80+ mile road trip, part of which was thru rough highway construction.

The three hatched on Eclipse day, not yet named. There's two more eggs that I added when I thought the first three had been left out in the cold too much. It appears that Martha's still been sitting on them, Day 20 today

The two little ones aren't as fluffy because they were sticky in shell, but hatched on their own.

Okay, confirmed: black chick is male. Between the head blotch and his pushy "me first" personality I figured he was a boy.
