APRIL 26TH, TSC MILFORD NH CHICKEN SWAP:

i just had 2 of my 4 bantam faverolles hatch!

i think i have a pullet and a cockrel from the looks of the wing feathers but i will have to give it a couple of days. i'm hoping tonight that the 2 other eggs will poke through too. i'm liking the little fluff balls, the fluffy feathers on the feet. (my dh has been looking at me like i've gone crazy as i've been making cooing & peeping noises to the cuties!)

i should have some bantam polish hatching on wednesday.

when i checked the frizzled polish they all looked like they were developing, but i will check them again after my next batch of eggs hatch, just to be sure on the possible numbers.

as for the standard faverolles, i only got to check 6 out of the 13 i received and they were all developing. i'll be checking them again this weekend. i had lots of eggs in the bator and i was afraid i would lose to much heat at the time.

Chick Magnet, your 2 silkie crosses i got a couple of weeks ago have turned out to be beautiful! i am fairly sure one is a female-she's become very fat with feathers!. the other i keep going back and forth on-the wings kept the black and white pattern of the rock but now it has been getting a lot of white feathers around the neck and breast area.

i'm hoping they will have the silkie gene to pass onto any babies they might eventually have. i would love to get one of the sizzles you had. will you have any more of those at this upcoming swap?

I will not have sizzles but I do have frizzles coming in all 3 colors. I just hatched 28 chicks sun. showgirls, turkens, ee, mixed breeds, possibly mixed frizzles, silkies. I have 2 hatchery orders due in the next 2 weeks as well as 3 bators running and 2 silkies sitting on 18 eggs due the 19th. hubby needs to keep building. keep those coops coming!
glad you like your silkie crosses. if you have a pair and breed tog you should get some silkie feathering according to what I have read.

I will be bringing some Pure Bantam chicks to the Milford swap. They are about 10 weeks old and all feathered out. I'll have a beautiful pair of red Frizzles, Porcelain Booted Cockerel, and a couple of Cochin Bantams.
